Le Prix des lecteurs de la Ville de Lausanne
13 Oct 2018 10 Apr 2019
Le Prix des lecteurs de la Ville de Lausanne is a prize whose jury is composed of readers from Greater Lausanne. It is chaired each year by a personality from the world of culture. This year, actor, animator, producer and publisher Vincent Kucholl is taking on this mission. The Prize is awarded for a cheque of 20,000 francs, as well as a one-month residency at Château de Lavigny, a French-speaking author who published a fiction book in the past year. The pre-selection of the six titles proposed to the jury and its president is made by the librarians of the City of Lausanne with the book policy delegate.
Each of the six nominated authors will be the subject of a public meeting between October 2018 and March 2019 in the form of a literary aperitif on Saturday at the Lausanne Palace. Each of the nominated books is also given particular prominence in bookshops and libraries in Lausanne, as well as a special promotion. The award ceremony takes place in the spring at the Théâtre Vidy-Lausanne. This well-endowed and comprehensive prize pursues the objectives of encouraging literary creation, mediating around books and promoting public reading.
