Roland Buti - Reader's prize of the city of Lausanne

07 Dec 2019

Born in 1964 in Lausanne where he lives, Roland Buti teaches history in a gymnasium in the canton of Vaud. In 1990, he published a first collection of short stories, "The Weighted Souls", followed by four novels including "A Cloud on the Eye", Bibliomedia Award 2005 and "The Middle of the Horizon", awarded several prizes including the RTS Public Prize and the 2014 Swiss Literature Prize.
"Grand National" (Zoé) surprises Carlo at a moment of crisis in his life: his wife Ana left him, his mother took refuge in a palace of the Riviera from where she refuses to go out and her employee, from the Balkans, is undergoing a beating for mysterious reasons. A tender, funny and melancholy quest for the romance of his mother during the Second World War and fleeing love.

The meeting takes place at 11am, followed by a gourmet aperitif and a book signing session.
