There’s a legend that every Christmas since the Lausanne Palace opened in 1915, sixteen merry elves have set up shop in the hotel.
They come to assist our team transform the Palace into a Christmas dreamland.
We’ve long known that it’s the tiny details that make all the difference.
GIANT seafood platter
Every winter, the Lausanne Palace’s Seafood Counter commands the sidewalk the fronts the hotel’s Brasserie du Grand Chêne. This is where every morning Chef Tiago Jesus creates his giant seafood display that the people of Lausanne have come to love. Each product is the result of a rigorous selection from the best seafood fishers in the Atlantic. It was in March 2022 that the Portuguese-born chef Tiago Jesus won first place in the World Championship of Seafood Preparers, held in the French city of Nice.
When our Seafood Counter is unveiled, the Lausanne Palace officially declares the holiday season open.
Items from the Seafood Counter may be enjoyed on site or purchased to take home.
Afternoon HIGH tea
Every day starting at 3PM it’s Afternoon High Teatime at 1915, the Lausanne Palace’s lobby bar and lounge. Order Champagne, tea from our vast assortment, or delicious hot chocolate, and discover our array of sweet and savory tastes prepared every day by our cooks and pastry chefs. But be warned – it's addictive.
Thursday to Sunday from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

- 09 December: live painting by graffiti artist Philippe Baro
- 16 December: choreographed happenings by the Neptune dance school
- 23 December: caricature session by cartoonist Awoe

The MUST of bistronomy to take home
Alexis Le Tadic, the Chef at the Brasserie du Grand Chêne, has come up with a wonderful gift for the festive season: the bistronomic gems he knows so well can also be taken home!
